Silence
Apr 17, 2021
Gazing through the window pane
Sun light crawling in above the slit
I paused
To hear the sweet dissonance
Or perhaps not too sweet
The wind gushing past the curtains
Striking the black surface of the table top
With a rather muffled row
I cloaked in the clatter
And as the noise fainted
Breezing over my dimpled cheeks
I paused again
Only to see the last bit vanish
Only to hear the noise drip away from my ears
Only to feel spaced in again
I sit still
Tapping my fingers up and down
Propping back onto my chair
Surrendering to this inseparable perception
And feeling disdainfully and mournfully relieved
